Policy & documentation services

Who would have thought that a set of papers could be the key to a more profitable business?

Any business that employs five or more people is legally required to have an up-to-date Health and Safety policy. Aside from protecting you and your staff, however, did you know that a robust set of policies could also bring some very real profits for your business?

  • Increasing the number of contracts you are eligible to apply for – and increase your likelihood of winning
  • Widening your scope as preferred supplier to a larger number of companies
  • Attract the right kind of people to apply for a position in your company, and encouraging your existing staff to stay with you – cutting down on recruitment and training costs

Whether you have an existing policy that needs updating, no current policy in place, or you would simply like to understand your options better, it is worth talking to EnviroSafety Solutions to find out how we can help you develop a policy for your business that is:

Realistic – in terms of budget, relevance to your business, and long-term benefit
Workable – in terms of ease to implement, monitor and maintain
Profitable – in terms of initial outlay, return on investment, and side-benefits

Accreditation

EnviroSafety Solutions can also help you gain accreditation to your clients’ preferred standards, including ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

What is this?

ISO stands for the International Standards Organisation and 14001 is the international standard for environmental management systems. BS 18001 is the British Standard for health and safety management systems. (OHSAS is the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series).

Both standards follow the same structure. Your organisation sets out its health, safety and environmental policies as statements of intent. Planning and the implementation of the system are then followed by the operation or actually using it in practice. Checking and monitoring it is working are clearly important stages and these need to be overseen by independent audit and regular management review.

Your systems must then be assessed by a certification body to ensure that they meet minimum requirements. Then, and only then, can registration to either standard be granted. Once registered, it is up to you to maintain the standards and requirements of your system. Failure to do this could result in loss of registration.

How is it important?

ISO and OHSAS are now widely-recognised as the industry accreditations that are essential for any company that wishes to be taken seriously. And, as you would expect, they also provide a framework for exceptional guidelines and standards to protect you, your staff and your clients.

What do we offer?
